K League announces the "Pick Ten" list for Team K League that will face Tottenham Hotspur in the first game of the 2024 Coupang Play Series.
Team K League consists of 22 players in total, including one voted "Coupang Play Young Player" under the age of 22, a "Fan Eleven," and the "Pick Ten" selected by the coaching staff.
Earlier, K League announced the "Fan Eleven," a 4-3-3 line-up of the players who'd won the most votes in each position, including Yang Min-hyuk (Gangwon), Lee Seung-woo (Suwon FC), Jo Hyeon-woo (Ulsan), and Hwang Jae-won (Daegu). However, Hwang Jae-won has been forced to withdraw due to injury; Gangwon's Hwang Mun-ki has been called up in his place.
Based on this, the Team K League coaches, Park Tae-ha and Kim Eun-jung have selected a "Pick Ten." The "Pick Ten" consists of various Korean and foreign players who are performing well in K League 1 this season. The selection took into account detailed positions and the allocation of players by team.
The forwards are Anderson (Suwon FC), Stanislav Iljutcenko (Seoul), Yoon Do-young (Daejeon), and Jeong Jae-hee (Pohang). Iljutcenko and Anderson are at the forefront when it comes to combined goals and assists, while Yoon Do-young and Jeong Jae-hee have been key players for their teams this term.
As for the remaining midfield spot, Italo (Jeju) has been selected.
Marko Tuci (Gangwon), Park Seung-wook (Gimcheon), Matej Jonjic (Incheon), and Lee Myung-jae (Ulsan) join the defensive ranks. Park Seung-wook and Jonjic were nominated in the "Fan Eleven" selection just before and unfortunately fell short in the final result, but they finally joined Team K League under the choice of head coach Park Tae-ha.
Hwang In-jae (Pohang), who drew enough attention to earn a first Korean national team call-up this year, has been selected as one of the goalkeepers. Hwang In-jae has featured in all games this season, and is playing a leading role in helping Pohang lead the K League 1.
Meanwhile, Ki Sung-yueng and Lingard (Seoul) who were on the final list of "Fan Eleven" became unable to be called up due to injury. As a result, fourth-place Jeong Ho-yeon and fifth-place Oberdan come in as replacements.
Team K League team will work with fans through various events such as fan signing events, K League YouTube Live, and football clinics with FC 7-Eleven, and K-League X Sanrio Characters Pop-up Store, which will be held at Lotte World Tower in Jamsil, Seoul for two days from Monday 29th to Tuesday 30th, two days before the game.
