With two wins from two, Chungbuk Cheongju are one of just two teams that have a 100% record in K League 2 so far this season. Both have been by a single goal, the first a 1-0 victory at home over Jeonnam Dragons, followed by a 2-1 away win over 10-man Cheonan City last time out. Anyang won on the opening day, beating Seongnam FC 2-0 at home, but had to sit Round 2 out. The two teams were in the playoff hunt last season and still had a mathematical chance of reaching the top five heading into the last day. This year, with solid starts under their belts, they'll be looking to reach the playoffs.

Chungbuk Cheongju have the third-highest xG value in the division so far with 3.36 and three goals scored means they are converting the chances they do make. FC Anyang's xG is 1.29 having only played one match so far. Both teams, however, have similar shots per 90 values - 11.09 for the Lions and 10.64 for the Violets. Last season, Chungbuk Cheongju won two of the three meetings, and Anyang one. All three matches, however, were settled by a single goal so this first of 2024 is likely to be tightly contested. 

Ansan Greeners finished second-bottom of the league last year, level on points with basement side Cheonan City. However, the Green Wolves showed just how much bite they can have in Round 2 by overcoming one of the division's promotion favourites Seongnam FC. Ansan earned a 3-1 away win and were off the mark inside four minutes through Kim Jae-sung before Roh Kyung-ho bagged a second-half brace. It was Kim's first goal for the club and first since his Chungnam Asan days in 2021, while Roh has doubled his tally from last season already. Ansan, then, have been rewarded for their stellar shooting accuracy as, heading into Round 3, the Green Wolves sit top of the division in that regard with 64.3% of all attempts finding the target. Four of their seven shots found the target against Gyeongnam in Round 1 and seven from eight against Seongnam. Up next for Ansan Greeners is the much-anticipated visit of Suwon Samsung Bluewings. The two teams have met before, but only once in the Korea Cup, with the Bluewings earning a 3-1 win in April last year at the Wa~ Stadium.

Two wins from two with five goals scored and just one conceded has propelled Seoul E-Land to top of the K League 2 table. Anchoring the backline is modern-day K League great Osmar Ibanez who made the switch from Sangam to Mokdong over the winter. Osmar sits seventh in K League 2 so far for interceptions with 18, second for aerial duel success at 72.73%, sixth for aerial duel success in his own penalty area at 66.67%, and third for shots blocked with three. Osmar has been deployed as the central defender in a back three and even got himself on the scoresheet four minutes into his Leopards debut. Up next for Osmar and Seoul E-Land is the short trip to Bucheon Stadium to take on a Bucheon FC 1995 side that is seeking its first win of the season.
