With Gimpo joining K League 2 only last year when Gimcheon were a top-division side, Sunday's clash will be the first-ever meeting between them.
Team of the Round
Chungnam Asan (vs. Jeonnam Dragons, Sat. 29th April - 13:30)
A run of four unbeaten puts Chungnam Asan among the top four in the division for recent form. The Owls drew last time out, conceding a late equaliser at home to Gyeongnam, but had won their two previous matches beforehand - the first against Seoul E-Land at home and the second away to Chungbuk Cheongju. Both wins saw the Owls keep cleansheets, and both saw centre back Jang Jun-young get his name on the scoresheet, opening the scoring inside 12 minutes on both occasions. Such a run of form places Park Dong-hyuk's men in seventh place but a win on Saturday could be enough to shoot into the playoff places. They take on Jeonnam Dragons on Saturday, a side that has lost its last two matches.
Player of the Round
Kim Jin-rae, Seongnam FC (vs. Seoul E-Land, Sun. 30th April - 18:30)
Seongnam FC's Kim Jin-rae has four assists for the season so far, enough to set joint-top of the division in that regard. All four of his assists have come in Seongnam's last four league matches. The most recent came against Busan IPark last weekend, teeing up Sim Dong-woon to give the Magpies a 1-0 lead seven minutes in. The 25-year-old joined Seongnam from K3 side Gyeongju KHNP where he spent the 2022 campaign and, as well as the four assists, has six key passes to his name, and 58 passes to the final third. He also sits in the top eight for crosses made with 10. Up next for Kim Jin-rae and Seongnam is the short trip to Mokdong to take on Seoul E-Land. It'll be the first meeting between the Leopards and the Magpies since 2018.
Elsewhere in K League 2 Round 10
Gyeongnam FC in third host last place Cheonan City this Saturday looking to extend their run of five matches without defeat. The Roses have had a pattern of win one, draw one and so having drawn last time out, could continue in that manner. Cheonan are yet to win this season but earned a first point of the season last time out, a 1-1 draw at home to Ansan Greeners.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Busan IPark are at home to Ansan Greeners with the aim of extending their unbeaten home record. Ansan, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last two and beat Jeonnam Dragons last time out.
In Saturday's evening kick-off, FC Anyang take on Chungbuk Cheongju looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats. Chungbuk, meanwhile, haven't won since opening day and have lost their last three in a row.
