A crucial clash between the bottom this Sunday sees Suwon Samsung Bluewings take on Seongnam FC. A win for either team could prove vital in their bid to avoid the drop or at least avoid the relegation playoffs.

Recent Form

Suwon Samsung Bluewings have won just five of their 25 matches this season. The fifth came just a couple of rounds ago, a 2-1 away victory over Daegu FC, which was their first in nine matches. In their last six they have lost three, drawn two and won one with goals for and against tallies of six and nine.

Seongnam FC are in slightly better form heading into Sunday's clash. The Magpies have two wins from their last six outings and more goals last six matches, 26 in total with 10 for and 16 against.

Head-to-Head

Suwon Bluewings are unbeaten in this fixture so far this term having won 1-0 in the most recent encounter - a late, late Jeon Jin-woo strike sealed the points for the Bluewings back in May - after a 2-2 draw in March.

Last season, from the three times the two teams butted heads, Suwon sealed two wins to Seongnam's one.

There have been 84 previous meetings between Suwon Bluewings and Seongnam. Suwon have recorded the most wins with 31, and Seongnam have managed 26 with 27 draws. Suwon have the edge in goals too with 118 scored to Seongnam's 106.

Over the last ten meetings, Suwon have managed four wins to Seongnam's three and three draws with an aggregate scoreline of 9-7.

What to Watch

It's a true relegation six-pointer. A win for Suwon would put further daylight between themselves and the Magpies while a win for Seongnam will make for a nervy end to the regular season for the teams in the bottom three.

The Bluewings and the Magpies, two teams with bird connections, look to their wing backs for inspiration. Suwon's Lee Ki-je is 10th in K League 1 for crosses (61), Park Soo-il is Seongnam's best crosser of the ball sitting 20th overall in the league at 48. Park's crossing accuracy takes him up to 10th, though, at 41.67% and he is also Seongnam's best dribbler, sitting 13th in K League 1 in that regard with a dribble success rate of 59.15%. For the Bluewings, their most accurate crosser is right wing back Kim Tae-hwan at 38.2%.  As a team, Lee Byung-keun's men will have to improve their shooting accuracy, though, as it is currently the worst in K League 1.

The first goal in this one will be key. Seongnam have gone behind in 16 matches this season and have gone on to win none of them, drawing one and losing 15. Suwon are similar with no wins but with six draws and 11 losses. In terms of leading matches, Seongnam have scored the game's first goal on nine occasions and win four, drawn three and lost two. Suwon, however, have not lost this season after taking the lead, registering five wins from five matches.
