Busan IPark vs. Gyeongnam FC
Busan IPark and Gyeongnam FC meet in the final Nakdong River Derby of the season, with Busan aiming to stay in the playoff race and Gyeongnam aiming to finish the campaign on a positive note. Busan have been strong at home, unbeaten in their last seven matches, but were forced to fight back from behind to draw 1–1 with Hwaseong FC last weekend through a Yoon Min-ho equaliser. Gyeongnam, however, are also in form with three wins from their last four, including victories over higher-ranked sides, although did find themselves falling by two goals to nil last round at home to Gimpo FC. Despite the contrasting league positions, Gyeongnam have already beaten Busan twice this season, both by 1–0, raising the stakes for Busan to both try and avoid the embarrassment of losing all three derbies in addition to maintaining their playoff push. Incheon United remain top of K League 2 with 66 points, and every match now is about protecting their cushion over Suwon Samsung Bluewings. Their attack continues to revolve around star striker Stefan Mugoša, the league’s top scorer, who has been clinical in decisive moments. Supporting him, midfielders like Lee Myung-joo and Kim Do-hyuk provide balance, linking play and controlling tempo. Incheon also boast the best defensive record in the division, making them difficult to break down even when not at their attacking best. Their weekend opponent, Hwaseong FC, may sit somewhat lower in the table, but they have proven capable of upsetting stronger sides.
