In the penultimate weekend of the 2025 Hana Bank K League 1 regular season, Round 32 mostly sees a continuation of the race for Final A. However, towards the bottom of the table, Jeju SK will need to return to form at the expense of league leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, whilst second-place Gimcheon Sangmu face the struggling reigning champions Ulsan HD on Sunday. Meanwhile, Suwon FC may well rely on the current K League 1 top scorer Pablo Sabbag when they face FC Seoul.
In a contest with implications at both ends of the table, Jeju SK face Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. The hosts come into proceedings having received four red cards in their 4-3 home defeat to Suwon FC last time out, where they conceded an xGA total of 3.76, faced 30 shots, and could only muster an xG tally of 0.56 themselves. Jeonbuk, meanwhile, drew 1-1 with FC Seoul in Round 31 when a 96th-minute Yeon Je-woon own goal handed the capital city side an equaliser.
Nevertheless, this year neither team has the advantage over the other, given both meetings have finished level, which includes a 0-0 stalemate back in Round 15.
Team of the Round
Gimcheon Sangmu (vs. Ulsan HD)
Following an important pair of victories, Gimcheon Sangmu are continuing to plant their flag at the top end of the table. In a 2-0 win over Pohang Steelers, the military side created an xG figure of 1.82 from 18 shots, imposed themselves on their 10-man opposition with 67% possession, took 22 touches in the opposition box, and limited Pohang to a single attempt on target. This week, Gimcheon face reigning champions Ulsan HD, who slipped into the bottom three following a 1-1 draw with Daegu FC.
Player of the Round
Pablo Sabbag, Suwon FC (vs. FC Seoul)
With a brace against Jeju SK, Pablo Sabbag made it 15 goals for the season and now sits as the league’s top goalscorer. In that game against the Tangerines, the Syrian forward took eight shots, 13 touches in the opposition box, created five chances, and made three passes to the final third in a complete attacking performance. In Round 32, Suwon host an FC Seoul side looking to maintain their Final A standing after earning four points in their last two outings.
Elsewhere in K League 1 Round 32
After a competitive 0-0 draw with FC Anyang, Gwangju FC remain in a Final A spot ahead of their clash with an improving bottom-placed Daegu FC that has lost just once in their last five games. Elsewhere, Pohang Steelers will look to iron out inconsistencies against fellow top-four battlers Daejeon Hana Citizen, who overtook the Steelers following a 0-0 stalemate with Gangwon FC. Speaking of the Bears, they host FC Anyang this week, with the Violets aiming to defeat the provincial club for the third time this year, having already beaten them home and away.
