Match of the Round

Jeonnam Dragons vs. Gyeongnam FC

Jeonnam Dragons play host to Gyeongnam FC in Round 20 of the Hana Bank K League 2, with both teams entering the fixture under vastly different circumstances. The Dragons are riding high after a statement 2-1 win over league leaders Incheon United, moving them within touching distance of the top three. In contrast, Gyeongnam find themselves in a worrying run of form, winless in their last five matches, picking up a solitary point and sitting 10th in the table. Jeonnam’s creative spark, José Alberti, will be key in unlocking a Gyeongnam defence that has conceded 33 goals this season, the second-most in the league. With playoff ambitions growing stronger in Gwangyang and survival concerns deepening in Changwon, both clubs have plenty at stake. Expect an encounter filled with urgency, open play, and potential for drama.

Team of the Round

Bucheon FC 1995

Bucheon 1995 head into Round 20 as one of the most in-form and intriguing sides in K League 2. Fresh off a hard-fought 1-0 away win over Hwaseong, the club has shown both resilience and momentum to chalk up four wins on the bounce and subsequently moving into the top three as a result. They return home to face Gimpo Citizen with the hopes of closing the four-point gap to second with a victory. With a solid defensive record and the opportunity, Bucheon will be highly motivated to deliver in front of their supporters. However, they will be without Lee Eui-hyung through suspension after the player's late red card against Hwaseong.

Player of the Round

Kim Jong-min, Chungnam Asan

While attention often falls on Incheon United's Stefan Mugoša, it’s Chungnam Asan’s Kim Jong-min who could prove just as decisive in Round 20. The forward took his tally to seven goals last weekend, scoring twice against Suwon Samsung Bluewings to temporarily draw his side level in what ended as a narrow 3-2 defeat. Kim linked up effectively with Son Jun-ho for both goals, the second of which a stunning overhead kick is already being touted as one of the goals of the season. With Incheon’s 15-match unbeaten streak recently snapped by Jeonnam, Kim will be eyeing another big performance against the league leaders. His form and finishing could be key if Asan are to cause an upset on Sunday.
