In the second leg of this Promotion-relegation playoff, Jeju SK are looking to maintain their slender advantage to secure their top-flight status for another season. Suwon Samsung Bluewings, meanwhile, need to overturn a one-goal deficit to be able to gain promotion, or else they face the prospect of remaining in the second-tier for a third successive season. Away goals don't count, and if the sides are level after the 90 then extra time will be played and

First Leg

In the first leg, a defensively resolute Jeju SK came away with what could be a vital 1-0 away victory, thanks to a second-half Yuri Jonathan penalty. As for Suwon Samsung Bluewings, they will rue the fact that their heavy pressure (17 shots, 10 on target, and 60% possession) did not lead to anything tangible they could take into this crucial deciding game.

Recent Form

Following Wednesday’s win, Jeju SK can now boast back-to-back victories for the first time since July. Overall, the Tangerines’ form remains relatively solid too, with two wins, two losses and a draw in their last five games. Concerningly, however, Jeju have not won at home since 23rd July, when they triumphed 3-2 over FC Seoul.

Suwon Samsung Bluewings, meanwhile, saw their nine-game unbeaten run end at the hands of Jeju SK, and have now won just one of their last five outings. With that being said, the Bluewings are strong away from home, having won 10 times on their travels this year in K League 2.

Head-to-Head

Recently, Jeju SK have the clear advantage in this fixture, winning four of their last five meetings with Suwon Samsung Bluewings. Additionally, the Tangerines have only lost one of their last six home clashes with the Bluewings, which came via a 2-1 defeat back in the 2022 season. History remains on the side of Sunday’s visitors, though, who have won 55 times overall against Jeju.

Key Players

Yuri Jonathan, Jeju SK

Wednesday’s match-winner, Yuri Jonathan, has been a key player for Jeju SK this year, scoring 14 times across the campaign, and will again be vital to his team's chances of playoff success this Sunday. Additionally, the Brazilian forward is one of the Tangerines' most productive attacking players, averaging (per 90) 3.68 shots, an xG of 0.51, 6.73 touches in the opposition box, 8.26 duels won, and 1.31 chances created.

Stanislav Iljutcenko, Suwon Samsung Bluewings

With Suwon Samsung Bluewings needing to win to stand any chance of promotion, experienced forward Stanislav Iljutcenko may just be the key. Boasting 13 goals and six assists in 2025, the striker has impressed since dropping down to K League 2, and has previously scored eight goals against Jeju SK, including three last season when playing for FC Seoul.
