notice 2021.08.17   I   조회수 1646

There are two rearranged 2021 Hana 1Q K League 1 fixtures slated for this Wednesday evening. Incheon United take on Seongnam FC looking to get back to winning ways after two matches without a victory. The Magpies, though, head to Sungui Arena Park on the back of two straight wins. Elsewhere, FC Seoul take on Jeju United knowing that a win could take the capital club up a couple of places in the table. The Islanders, however, will be determined to secure a first maximum in 12 outings.

#INCvSFC: Incheon United (7th) vs Seongnam FC (10th) - 19:00 KST

Still sitting fairly comfortably in mid-table despite having gone two matches without victory, Incheon United welcome a resurgent Seongnam FC side to Sungui Arena Park this Wednesday night. Incheon's stellar run of form began with a 3-1 win over Seongnam FC in Round 11. After which, Jo Sung-hwan's men went on a run of just one defeat in 12 outings with six wins. But a 0-0 stalemate with Suwon FC was followed up by a 1-0 away loss to the league's basement side Gwangju FC on Sunday. A return to winning ways would be enough to move into the top six.

Seongnam FC, meanwhile, make the short trip to Incheon having secured back-to-back wins from their last two outings. Six points from six available have taken the Magpies up to 10th and within just five points of Incheon. A third win on the trot would move Kim Nam-il's side up to eighth place in the table. Key for the Magpies is towering Serbian striker Fejsal Mulić who bagged match-winning goals in Seongnam's last two fixtures, the first in a 1-0 home victory over Pohang Steelers and the second in the 89th minute to make it 2-1 away to Suwon Bluewings. Mulić's tally is now at 10 for the season, just three behind the league's leading scorer Joo Min-kyu. Seongnam have made the fewest shots in the division but have the fourth-best accuracy at 36.4%. Meanwhile, no team has blocked as many shots as Incheon have so far this term at 91.

#SEOvJEJ: FC Seoul (11th) vs Jeju United (9th) - 19:30 KST

FC Seoul's 3-2 loss away to Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors on Sunday was the team's first in four matches. The reverse meant that Seoul slipped to 11th in the table, two points above Gwangju FC in 12th but have played two games fewer - one of the games in hands is Wednesday's visit of Jeju United. Seoul, along with Seongnam FC, Gangwon FC, and Gwangju have picked up six wins so far this term. Seoul, though, will be able to take some encouragement from Gabrial Barbosa scoring his first goal in K League in the 3-2 defeat to Jeonbuk, this after Ji Dong-won scored his first goal since returning to Korea in the 1-0 win over Gwangju around 10 days ago.

Only one team has recorded fewer wins than FC Seoul this term though and that's Wednesday's visitors to the capital, Jeju United. The Tangerines have picked up just four and only one of which was away from home. The Islanders have recorded a league-high 13 draws this term but have lost just six, the third-fewest in K League 1. Jeju United haven't secured victory in K League since these two sides last met; the 2-1 home victory against a very young FC Seoul side in Round 11 back in April. Since then, Jeju have amassed just seven points from 36 available and so will be determined to returning to winning ways. Just one point separates these two teams in the table meaning that a win for Seoul would move them above Jeju and potentially into eighth place. Jeju, meanwhile, could move up to eighth themselves with a first league victory against Seoul since 2016.
